Merry Christmas!!!

I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!! And also thank you for your constant encouragement and inspiration! It has been so cool to make new cyber friends, even though we've never met in person. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and an inspirational, prosperous and artistic New Year! And may you have lots of time to fill those moleskins! :D

Finished my moleskin!!!

I just finished my first moleskin sketchbook!!! This one runs from July through December. I have 5 or 6 sketchbooks going at once so it usually takes a long time to finish one ~ this one is the fastest I've ever finished one. I took this to a lot of appointments and sketched the waiting time away. A lot of the sketches are not that great and I would like to rip them out or glue pics over them but I think I'll just leave them as a reminder to myself that I'm only human. :)

After the snowman picture I went back and finished some blank pages here and there and added some more sketches of spoons to the very last page and envelope just so I could say that I had finished it, I know, how anal is that? LOL! And of course I already have a new moleskin that I started the next day. Wonder what adventures it will lead me on?

EDM challenge #191 - paper money

I'm back to doing EDM challenges, this is one from a few weeks ago, draw some paper money. George is off center but this is totally done in pen and ink. I decided I need to start putting more color into my sketches so I used a green that was way too bright and I toned it down with purple. This is one of those prompts that I thought "oh you've got to be kidding, that's too hard." I just started working from the outside in and obviously left out some details otherwise it would take years. Years ago at an art museum back east we saw a small drawing/painting that an artist had done a long time ago. It looked so realistic that at the time they accused him of just pasting the bill on the paper. They even looked at it with a magnifying glass ~ the artist insisted he painted it. I think it was proven years later that he had in fact painted it. I had totally forgotten about that until I did this challenge. Mine of course is not even close to the real thing.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

Oh brrrrrrr! Did I wake up in Alaska? It was -9 degrees this morning!!!! Our high was 9. It was supposed to be 20 but it didn't make it... Tomorrow is supposed to be 30 but I'll believe it when I see it. See the rock? That was my first try at a rabbit that was really bad so it became a rock. I like John P's idea of making notes to myself and highlighting them so I have done that ~ my rabbits look like chihuahuas! Work was pretty slow today so I just kicked back and doodled and and journaled in between calls.

Antique Trolley bus toy

It's been awhile! This is a quick sketch I did of an antique trolley bus that I got at an auction a few years ago. It reminds me of the bus on Harry Potter. Thanks to John P. for giving me an award which I had to nominate 10 other blogs for and in visiting all the blogs trying to figure out who to nominate I got soooooo inspired by all the gorgeous sketches and just had to do one myself! So thanks again John!

It feels good to be sketching again! I guess I'll have to try and do this once a week, even if it's just a quick sketch....

Really I haven't been googing off....

It seems like it's been forever since I posted! I've been working part time and it's taking too much time and too much of my creative energy! Ah well, I guess that's life. So until I figure out how to make a living from my art I'll just have to deal with it. Sorry for whining. :D

These are a couple of sketches I've done recently, the first is a Zentangle, a mindless doodle using certain patterns... The second one I was drawing my daughter's eye and it looked like a bird so I added wings and legs and then just kept going from there. Have you ever noticed how sterile doctor's offices look? And there's never anything cool to draw?

I'll try to do better on my drawing.

It's been awhile!

I apologize for my long absence - I have a new part time job, with the full time job of Mom, chauffeur, cook, maid etc. it doesn't leave much time for art. Yes, after being a stay-at-home mom and artist for a lot longer than I had planned I am now working every morning Monday thru Friday. It's been an adjustment and we're still adjusting. The paycheck is really nice though! But I do miss all the time to create and draw and just be inspired.
